# Intro to Limy

This article explains what Limy is, how it works, and how you can use it to understand and improve your brand’s visibility across AI-generated search results.

### What is Limy? <a href="#what-is-limy" id="what-is-limy"></a>

Limy.ai is a visibility and intelligence platform built for the agentic web - the new ecosystem where AI systems like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini actively browse, interpret, and reference online content.

Limy helps companies understand how AI models perceive their brand, which pages AI bots visit, and how their information is being used to answer user prompts across AI search engines.

Inspired by the shift toward AI-driven discovery, Limy was built to give brands a clear picture of their presence in AI results and provide actionable guidance to improve visibility.

***

### Prompts: How AI Search Is Analyzed

Prompts represent the questions users ask AI systems when researching products, brands, or topics. Limy generates and analyzes prompts based on your industry, topics, and target personas.

For each prompt, Limy analyzes the AI-generated answer, brand mentions, competitor presence, sentiment, and sources. This allows you to understand where your brand appears, where gaps exist, and why AI systems respond the way they do.

***

### What Limy Measures

Limy measures AI visibility across key dimensions, including overall brand visibility, market share versus competitors, prompt coverage, sentiment, and the sources influencing AI-generated answers.

Together, these metrics provide a clear view of your brand’s position inside AI-driven discovery.

***

### Recommendations: Turning Insights into Action

Based on visibility gaps, competitor behavior, and source patterns, Limy generates tailored recommendations to help improve coverage, relevance, and positioning across AI systems.

Each recommendation explains what to improve, why it matters, and how to implement it, allowing teams to move from insight to execution.

***

### Limy Analytics: From AI Behavior to Outcomes

Limy Analytics connects how AI systems ingest content with how users behave after discovering your brand through AI-generated answers.

* **Bot Monitor** shows how AI agents crawl and interpret your content
* **Limy Pixel** tracks user behavior from AI-driven traffic
* **Attribution** connects AI discovery to conversions and business impact

### What is the Limy Pixel? How is it different from traditional analytics? <a href="#what-is-the-limy-pixel-how-is-it-different-from-traditional-analytics" id="what-is-the-limy-pixel-how-is-it-different-from-traditional-analytics"></a>

The Limy tracking pixel is designed specifically for the agentic web. Unlike traditional analytics tools that focus on human visitors, Limy detects AI bots, maps their crawling behavior, and reveals how AI systems understand and surface your content in AI-driven conversations.

***

### How Limy Is Different

Traditional analytics focus on clicks and human sessions. Limy is built specifically for AI-driven discovery, measuring how AI systems generate answers and how that exposure translates into real outcomes.

# Your First 30 Days with Limy

A step-by-step guide to your first 30 days with Limy, covering setup, key features, and best practices to help you start seeing value quickly.

This guide outlines what to focus on during your first 30 days with Limy so you can confidently assess whether you're on track and getting real value from the platform.

Limy is designed to help you understand how AI systems perceive your brand, improve your visibility across AI-generated answers, and measure the business impact of that visibility. The first month is about building the right foundation, establishing a baseline, and turning early insights into action.

## Day 1: Set the Foundation

### Goal: Ensure Limy accurately reflects your market and competitive landscape.

On your first day, review and validate the core inputs that power all analysis in Limy:

* **Topics**: Confirm they accurately represent your product, category, and strategic positioning
* **Competitors**: Verify that the competitive set matches who you actually [compete](/intelligence/competitors) against. If needed, [add](/settings/adding-competitors) or [delete](/settings/deleting-competitors) competitors to ensure Limy analyzes the right market landscape.
* **Prompts**: Review [generated prompts](/intelligence/how-limy-generates-prompts) to ensure they represent realistic AI search behavior in your market

#### Then do an initial scan of:

* Prompts where your brand appears
* Prompts where competitors appear but you do not
* Any prompts, topics, or competitors that feel irrelevant or missing

{% hint style="info" %}
This step ensures Limy is **analyzing the correct AI search landscape** before you move into deeper insights.
{% endhint %}

#### What “on track” looks like

* Topics and prompts clearly reflect your market
* Competitors are accurate and relevant
* The data looks familiar and actionable

***

## Days 2: Establish Your AI Visibility Baseline

### Goal: Understand how AI systems currently perceive and position your brand.

#### Start analyzing Limy’s core insight layers:

* **Dashboard**: Review overall brand visibility, market share, and trend direction
* **Prompts**: Identify where your brand appears, where it doesn’t, and which prompts matter most
* **Competitors**: Understand which brands dominate AI-generated answers in your category
* **Sentiment** (initial read): Get an early sense of how AI systems [frame](broken://pages/7TyveK6e8NI26l2zrlWQ) your brand

&#x20;At this stage, focus on understanding the landscape — not executing changes yet.

#### What “on track” looks like:

* You can clearly describe your current AI visibility baseline
* You understand where you are strong and where gaps exist
* You have an initial sense of competitive positioning in AI search

***

## Day 3: Define your Brand Kit

### Goal

Ensure Limy understands your brand’s voice, positioning, and messaging so insights and recommendations are aligned with your strategy.

### What to do

On Day 3, set up your [**Brand Kit**](/settings/brand-kit)**.** This provides Limy with essential context about how your brand should be represented.

Go to **Settings > Brand Kit** and define:

* Your **brand essence** and positioning
* Your **tone of voice** (e.g. authoritative, technical, approachable)
* Core **messaging pillars** you want AI systems to associate with your brand
* **Dos and don’ts**, including terms, claims, or narratives to avoid
* Any **custom rules** relevant to compliance or brand guidelines

{% hint style="info" %}
Ensure Limy understands your brand’s voice, positioning, and messaging so insights and recommendations **align** with your strategy.
{% endhint %}

#### Why this matters

Without a Brand Kit, recommendations may be accurate but generic. With a Brand Kit in place, Limy can prioritize actions that reinforce your intended positioning and avoid suggestions that conflict with your brand strategy.

#### What “on track” looks like

* Brand Kit fields are completed and reflect your current brand strategy
* Recommendations feel relevant and on-brand
* Your team trusts Limy’s guidance without needing heavy manual filtering

***

## End of Week 1: Identify Gaps, Sentiment, and Opportunity Areas

### **Goal:** Turn early data into a clear opportunity map.

#### By the end of Week 1, you should be able to answer:

* Where do we stand versus competitors?
* Which topics and prompts are we strong in?
* Where are we missing from AI-generated answers?
* How do AI systems currently frame our brand?

#### Review:

* Dashboard for market position and trends
* Prompts for coverage gaps
* Sentiment to identify positive, neutral, or negative framing
* Source Analysis to understand which sources influence AI answers

This step is about forming a clear strategic hypothesis — not executing yet.

#### What “on track” looks like

* You can articulate your AI visibility gaps
* You understand which sources and narratives shape AI answers
* You have a prioritized list of topics and issues to address

***

## Week 2: Start Implementing Recommendations

### Goal: Move from insight to execution.

#### Begin actively working with recommendations:

* Review available [recommendations](/dashboard/dashboard-overview/recommendations)
* Decide which topics and recommendation types to prioritize
* Create a focused implementation [plan](/optimization/recommendations/recommendation-plan)

#### As you implement recommendations:

* Update the [status](/optimization/recommendations/recommendation-statuses) (Active → In Progress → Done)
* Add the live URL when completed to enable tracking

This is where Limy shifts from analysis to measurable impact.

#### What “on track” looks like

* Recommendations are actively being implemented
* Statuses are kept up to date
* Completed work is being tracked

{% hint style="info" %}
Before implementing recommendations, make sure your topics, prompts, and competitors **accurately** reflect your market. Clean inputs lead to more relevant insights and actions.
{% endhint %}

***

## **Week 2-3: Enable Measurement, Attribution, and Brand Context**

### **Goal:** Activate Limy’s measurement layer and ensure recommendations align with your brand strategy.

#### By week 2 or 3, you should complete three critical setups:

**1. Install AI Traffic Monitor:** [Install](https://docs.getlimy.ai/limy-pixel/gtm-pixel) the Limy tracking pixel via Google Tag Manager. This allows you to track users arriving on your site from AI-generated answers. AI Traffic Monitor makes AI-driven traffic visible and enables downstream attribution.

**2. Set Up Attribution:** Attribution allows you to connect AI-driven leads to conversions and measure ROI. To set up the attribution, please contact us at <answers@limy.ai>.

**3. Set Up Bot Monitor (CDN Integration):** [Connect your CDN](https://docs.getlimy.ai/limy-pixel/cdn-integration) (Cloudflare, Akamai, Fastly, etc.). This allows you to see how AI bots crawl and ingest your content

Together, AI Traffic Monitor, Attribution, and Bot Monitor give you visibility into both sides of the AI journey: content ingestion and user behavior.

### What “on track” looks like

* AI Traffic Monitor is live
* Attribution conversions are defined
* Bot Monitor integration is in progress or complete

The Brand Kit ensures that recommendations and suggested actions align with your brand strategy and positioning.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Setup tip:** Limy Analytics setup typically requires collaboration with your development or DevOps team to install the tracking pixel and connect the Bot Monitor via your CDN.
{% endhint %}

## Weeks 3–4: Measure Lift and Validate Impact

### **Goal: Confirm that your actions are improving AI visibility and performance.**

### Monitor changes across:

* **Prompts**: new prompts where your brand appears
* **Dashboard**: visibility and sentiment trends
* **AI** **Traffic** **Monitor**: AI-driven user engagement
* **Attribution**: conversions and value from AI traffic

This is where you begin to see whether execution is translating into measurable results.

### What “on track” looks like

* Increased visibility for priority topics
* Improved positioning or sentiment
* Early AI-driven traffic and conversions

***

Review the [check-list](/onboarding/onboarding-check-list) to make sure you’ve completed all key setup steps.&#x20;

# Scaling and Optimizing with Limy

This guide covers what to focus on after your first month with Limy, including how to adapt your marketing strategy, prioritize topics, and continuously scale your visibility across AI systems.

## **Goal: Use Limy as a continuous intelligence layer to guide marketing strategy, prioritize effort, and compound AI visibility gains over time.**

By Month 2, the goal is to move beyond individual recommendations and use Limy insights to actively shape your broader marketing strategy.

### Use AI visibility insights to adapt your marketing strategy

At this stage, use Limy to answer higher-level strategic questions such as:

* Which topics drive the most AI visibility and engagement?
* Where does AI consistently position our brand as an authority?
* Which areas underperform despite ongoing effort?
* Which sources mostly influence AI answers?&#x20;
* In which sources do my competitors invest in the most?

### Use these insights to:

* Refine your content roadmap
* Adjust messaging priorities
* Reallocate budget and resources toward topics that AI systems amplify

Limy becomes a signal for where marketing effort delivers the highest leverage in AI search.

***

## Continuously prioritize topics and prompts

### Regularly review:

* High & low visibility prompts
* Non-appearing prompts
* Topics where competitors dominate AI answers
* [Sentiment](/intelligence/sentiment-score-analysis/sentiment-analysis-prompt-level) positioning across LLMs
* Strong [sources](/intelligence/source-analysis) across your industry and competitors

### Use this analysis to:

* Double down on topics where momentum is building
* Deprioritize low-impact areas
* Identify emerging opportunities before they become competitive

This ensures your team focuses effort where AI visibility can compound over time.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Focus** on topics, prompts, and recommendations that consistently drive visibility and outcomes, rather than trying to address every opportunity at once.
{% endhint %}

***

## Leverage Source Analysis to guide distribution and PR strategy

AI systems rely heavily on external sources when generating answers. In Month 2 and beyond, Source Analysis should inform your broader distribution strategy.

### Continuously review:

* Which sources AI systems reference most in your industry
* Which sources competitors appear in frequently
* The balance between owned, earned, and third-party sources

### Use these insights to:

* Guide PR and media outreach
* Inform partnerships and placements
* Shape where content should be published or syndicated

Source Analysis helps ensure your marketing efforts align with where AI systems actually learn.

{% hint style="info" %}
Patterns in Source Analysis often indicate which publications, platforms, or communities influence AI-generated answers in your industry and should **shape** your distribution and PR strategy.
{% endhint %}

***

## Actively manage and improve sentiment

Sentiment should be monitored on an ongoing basis, not only during onboarding.

### Use Sentiment insights to:

* Identify prompts where AI framing is negative or inconsistent
* Understand which sources or narratives drive that sentiment
* Prioritize corrective actions through content, PR, or messaging updates

{% hint style="info" %}
Sentiment is most valuable when used to **identify** specific narratives or sources that influence AI framing, allowing targeted corrective action rather than broad content changes.
{% endhint %}

***

## Analyze how AI systems read your content with the Bot Monitor

Use the [**Bot Monitor**](/monitoring/bot-monitor) to understand how AI agents crawl and ingest your website.

Keep focusing on:

* Which pages AI bots visit most frequently
* Which content is refreshed or re-crawled over time
* Whether high-priority pages are being ingested consistently

This insight helps you:

* Identify which pages influence AI-generated answers
* Detect gaps where important content is not being crawled
* Prioritize optimization for pages that matter most to AI systems

Bot Monitor data reflects **how** AI systems ingest your content, not how users behave, so focus on which pages are crawled most frequently and which are not.&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
If critical pages are not being crawled, this may indicate accessibility, structure, or technical issues worth addressing.
{% endhint %}

***

## Understand how AI-driven users behave with the Limy Pixel

Use the [**Limy Pixel**](/monitoring/ai-traffic-monitor) **(AI Traffic Monitor)** to analyze how users behave after arriving from AI-generated answers.

Review:

* Which AI platforms drive the most traffic
* Which pages AI-driven users land on
* How engaged AI-driven users are compared to other channels
* Drop-off points or friction in the user journey

This allows you to evaluate whether AI-driven traffic is **qualified, engaged, and aligned with your goals**.

{% hint style="info" %}
AI-driven traffic may initially appear smaller than traditional channels, but it often represents **higher-intent users** who have already researched options and are seeking clear recommendations or next steps. Because users arrive after interacting with AI-generated answers that synthesize and evaluate information for them, **they tend to be further along** in the decision process and more likely to engage or convert.
{% endhint %}

***

## Measure business impact with Attribution

With AI Traffic Monitor in place, [**Attribution**](/monitoring/attribution) becomes a critical part of Month 2 analysis.

Use Attribution to:

* Track conversions originating from AI-driven sessions
* Identify which prompts and topics contribute to outcomes
* Measure lead volume, pipeline, or revenue from AI search

This helps shift internal conversations from *visibility* to *impact*, allowing you to justify continued investment in AI visibility optimization.

{% hint style="info" %}
Attribution helps you understand which AI prompts and conversations drive real business outcomes, allowing you to **prioritize** visibility improvements based on revenue, pipeline, or conversion impact rather than impressions alone.
{% endhint %}

***

## Continue implementing and tracking recommendations

Recommendations remain an important execution layer, but in Month 2+ they should be used more selectively.

### Best practices include:

* Regularly reviewing new recommendations
* Keeping [statuses](/optimization/recommendations/recommendation-statuses) updated so Limy continues surfacing relevant actions
* [Tracking](/optimization/recommendations/recommendations-tracking) completed work with URLs to measure impact
* Aligning recommendations with strategic priorities, not ad-hoc execution

This keeps your optimization loop clean and intentional.

***

## What long-term success looks like

### By consistently applying Limy insights, you should see:

* Sustained growth in AI visibility across priority topics
* Improved positioning relative to competitors
* Stronger, more consistent sentiment in AI-generated answers
* Clear alignment between marketing strategy and AI discovery
* Measurable business impact through Attribution

At this stage, Limy functions as a strategic visibility layer, informing not just AI optimization, but broader marketing decisions.

# Dashboard Overview

This article explains how to use the Dashboard to understand your brand’s visibility, market share, sentiment, and competitive position across AI-generated answers.

The Dashboard is the central visibility overview of Limy. It shows how your brand appears across AI-generated answers and how that visibility evolves over time.

In AI search, brands are not discovered through ranked links. Instead, AI systems generate answers by **synthesizing information from multiple sources and selectively referencing brands**. This can make it difficult for brands to understand whether they're being mentioned consistently, competitively, or positively.

The Dashboard solves this by aggregating AI visibility signals into a **single, high-level view**. It allows you to quickly understand where your brand stand in AI-generated conversations, how you compare to competitors, and whether your visibility is improving or declining.

Once you log in to your Limy account, you’ll be taken straight to the **Dashboard**. If not, you can access it from the left panel.

<figure><img src="/files/6L7oMrMzJZ9GHZtH9pOM" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### The Dashboard provides a consolidated view of key AI visibility metrics, including:&#x20;

* **Overall Brand Visibility:** how frequently your brand appears across AI-generated prompts
* **Market Share:** how often your brand is mentioned relative to competitors within the same prompt set&#x20;
* **Sentiment Score:** how positively or negatively AI systems describe your brand
* **Recommendations**: actionable suggestions for improving visibility across LLMs Together, these metrics give marketing teams a strategic understanding of AI visibility before moving into deeper analysis or execution.

   2. **Non-branded:** Shows prompts where your brand is not mentioned, but relevant competitors or category terms are.&#x20;
3. **Topic:** Filters prompts based on the themes they relate to, whether added by you or automatically created by Limy.
4. **Provider**: showing you the different LLMs the prompts are run on (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overview).&#x20;
5. **Prompt intent:**&#x20;
   1. **Commercial**: Shows prompts where users are comparing options, evaluating products, or considering a purchase decision.
   2. **Informational**: Shows prompts where users are seeking education, explanations, or general knowledge about a topic or solution.
   3. **General**: Shows prompts focused on brand identity, reputation, or high-level understanding, without a clear buying or research intent.
6. **Date** **range**: Filters data to a specific time period to analyze trends or measure change over time.

# Sentiment Score

This article explains how to view your brand's and your competitor's sentiment score across the LLM's answers.

### Overview

Sentiment Analysis shows **how AI systems describe and frame your brand** within AI-generated answers.

When AI platforms generate responses about your brand, they do more than reference facts. They apply tone and context - positive, neutral, or negative - based on the sources they ingest and the narratives they infer. Over time, this framing shapes how users perceive your brand before they ever interact with your website or content directly.

The Sentiment Score in Limy allows you to understand how AI systems *talk about* your brand, identify where negative or inconsistent framing exists, and take targeted action to improve brand perception across AI-generated answers.

<figure><img src="/files/ahTWtvxHqdJiwa3lqDlz" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Sentiment is measured on a **0–100 scale**, where:

* **0** represents strongly negative framing
* **100** represents strongly positive framing

This score reflects **AI-generated language**, not customer reviews or social sentiment.

### FAQ

<details>

<summary><strong>Is sentiment based on customer reviews or social media?</strong></summary>

No. Sentiment is derived from AI-generated answers and the language used by AI systems, based on the sources they reference.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Can sentiment change quickly?</strong></summary>

Yes. Sentiment can shift when AI systems ingest new sources or re-interpret existing information.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>How can I improve negative sentiment?</strong></summary>

Improvement usually involves addressing the underlying sources through updated content, PR efforts, or clarifying commentary.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Should I optimize for sentiment or visibility first?</strong></summary>

Both matter, but addressing negative sentiment on high-visibility prompts should be prioritized.

# Recommendations

This article explains how to review, implement, and track recommendations that improve your visibility across AI systems.

The recommendations helps **you turn AI visibility insights into concrete, high-impact actions**. AI systems decide which brands to mention based on the content they ingest, the sources they trust, and the signals they observe across the web.&#x20;

Knowing where your brand appears is only the first step - improving visibility requires targeted changes across content, PR, technical setup, and external signals. Recommendations in Limy bridge that gap by translating AI visibility data into specific, actionable suggestions.&#x20;

In this view, you’ll see the three most recent recommendations suggested by Limy, along with the three latest recommendations you’ve implemented and are currently tracking.

<figure><img src="/files/F1Frx28OEHL0SAS2wrua" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Each recommendation **is grounded in observed AI behavior, competitor performance, and the sources influencing AI-generated answers in your market**. Recommendations are grouped into [five categories](/optimization/recommendations/recommendation-types): Content, Blog, PR, Social and Technical.

Each recommendation provides an opportunity for improvement, why it matters for AI visibility, and how to address it.&#x20;

You can manage execution by updating [recommendation statuses](/optimization/recommendations/recommendation-statuses) and track impact by adding URLs once work is complete, allowing Limy to tailor future recommendations accordingly.

# How Limy Generates Prompts

This page explains how Limy creates all the prompts in your account and why they are crucial to measure your brand's visibility.

**Prompts** are the foundation of Limy. Everything in the platform starts with the questions users ask AI systems when researching your industry, products, and brand.&#x20;

Powered by **web intelligence**, these prompts act as the backend engine that drives all visibility measurement - allowing Limy to understand what your audience is asking, how AI systems respond, and how visible your brand is across large language models.

Prompts represent the questions users ask AI systems when researching products, companies, or topics in your market. In AI-driven discovery, users ask natural-language questions and receive a single synthesized answer — making whether and how your brand appears critical to visibility.

### **What Prompts Show**

Each prompt provides insight into:

* The latest AI-generated answer
* Brand and competitor mentions
* Brand sentiment
* Sources influencing the response
* Provider distribution

This helps you understand not just *if* your brand appears, but *how* it appears in AI answers.

### **Prompt Analysis**

The Prompts view displays all tracked prompts - both where your brand appears and where it doesn’t. You can search and filter by intent, topic, region, brand presence, or date range to identify high-impact opportunities.

Click [**Analyze**](#prompt-analysis) on any prompt to view detailed results, including competitors mentioned, sentiment, the AI's answer, and source attribution. Starring a prompt signals its importance and helps Limy prioritize recommendations.

<figure><img src="/files/AQz3LManFkpU1BNDRTt4" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/ss1znGU6Pji1O71n6LdJ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### [**Modifying**](#modifying-prompts) **Prompts**

You can [add](/intelligence/prompts-overview/adding-prompts), edit or remove prompts directly from the Prompts section to track custom questions, remove irrelevant ones, or reflect changes in your strategy. Updates apply to future prompt runs and visibility analysis.

**Starring a prompt** signals to Limy that this prompt should be prioritized when generating recommendations.

### Prompts are generated using a combination of:

* Your industry and category
* Your ICP and use cases
* Known AI search behavior patterns
* Competitive and category-level analysis

Limy continuously **maps the AI search landscape by identifying the types of questions users** **ask** when discovering, comparing, and evaluating solutions like yours.

These prompts reflect how users naturally interact with AI systems, rather than how they use traditional search engines. Limy originally expands each prompt into a set of related fan-out queries and **re-runs them every 24 hours to capture changes over time**.

### Fan-out Queries

When a user asks a question to an AI system, the system does not treat it as a single query. Instead, the AI internally explores multiple related variations and sub-questions to gather enough context to generate a reliable answer. These are known as **fan-out queries.**

Limy mirrors this behavior by generating clusters of related prompt variations, ensuring visibility analysis reflects how AI systems actually reason about your category, not just the surface-level question.

### Differences between Prompts vs. traditional SEO Queries

Prompts are fundamentally different from traditional SEO querie&#x73;**.** In classic search, users type short keywords and browse multiple results. In AI-driven discovery, users ask full, natural-language questions - *prompts -* and receive a single synthesized answer generated by an AI system.

While SEO queries optimize for ranking on a results page, prompts determine whether your brand is included, how it’s described, and which sources influence the AI’s response. This shift is why prompts and not keywords, are the unit of measurement for visibility in large language models.

# Competitors

This article explains how to analyze competitor visibility in AI-generated answers and use those insights to improve your brand’s positioning.

The Competitors section shows how AI systems **reference competing brands when generating answers in your category.**

In AI-generated answers, visibility is relative. AI systems rarely mention a single brand in isolation - they compare, recommend alternatives, and highlight leaders based on perceived authority and relevance. This means that your AI visibility **is directly shaped by how competitors are positioned, which sources support them, and which prompts they dominate.**

The Competitors section in Limy helps your and your team understand who is winning AI-generated conversations, why they are winning, and where opportunities exist to shift that balance.

Navigate to the **Competitors** on the left panel.

<figure><img src="/files/edfoxLKr4BLME5d4Ydmh" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Using the Competitors section, you can:

* See which competitors appear most frequently in AI-generated answers
* Track competitor visibility trends over time
* Identify prompts where competitors outperform your brand
* Understand which sources influence competitor mentions

This allows teams to move from anecdotal assumptions about competitors to data-backed insights grounded in AI behavior.

### For deeper analysis on each prompt, click on **Analyze**. You will then see the following:

* The prompt itself
* The AI-generated answer by each provider
* The brand comparison showing you how you compare to your competitors
* The providers
* The sentiment associated with each brand
* The sources influencing the response

This helps identify whether competitors are gaining or losing AI presence relative to you.

# Sentiment Score Analysis

This article explains how sentiment analysis works in Limy and how to identify and address negative or inconsistent AI framing of your brand.

Sentiment Analysis in Limy allows you to understand how AI systems *talk about* your brand, identify where negative or inconsistent framing exists, and take targeted action to improve brand perception across AI-generated answers.

You can access Sentiment Analysis from the **Sentiment** page in the left navigation. Sentiment insights are also available directly within the [**Dashboard**](/dashboard/dashboard-overview) and at the [**individual prompt level**](/intelligence/sentiment-score-analysis/sentiment-analysis-prompt-level), allowing you to analyze brand perception across high-level trends and specific AI-generated answers.

<figure><img src="/files/Qw0qAs2TPpLMQ8JGVX03" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

***

### What Sentiment Analysis Shows

Sentiment Analysis allows you to:

* See an overall sentiment score for your brand
* Track sentiment trends over time
* Analyze sentiment at the **prompt level**
* Compare sentiment across competitors
* Identify prompts and sources driving negative or positive framing

Sentiment is measured on a **0–100 scale**, where:

* **0** represents strongly negative framing
* **100** represents strongly positive framing

This score reflects **AI-generated language**, not customer reviews or social sentiment.

***

### How to Access Sentiment Analysis

You can access Sentiment Analysis in multiple places within Limy:

1. Directly within the **Dashboard**

<figure><img src="/files/3zL87EzGhum3tpCZwkbJ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

2. From the **Sentiment** page in the left navigation

<figure><img src="/files/8RRWhF9t9DmRUm8lKWQp" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

3. At the **individual prompt level**

<figure><img src="/files/mEEr9BdFCAiUwZJD07Ah" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

***

### How to Use Sentiment Analysis

#### Step 1: Review overall sentiment

Start by reviewing your overall sentiment score and trend line to understand how AI framing of your brand changes over time.

This view helps identify:

* Gradual improvements or declines
* Sudden shifts caused by new sources or narratives

#### Step 2: Analyze sentiment at the prompt level

Click into individual prompts to see how sentiment is expressed within specific AI-generated answers.

Prompt-level analysis helps you:

* Identify which topics drive negative framing
* Understand the context behind sentiment changes
* Avoid treating sentiment as a single, abstract metric

#### Step 3: Identify influencing sources

For prompts with negative or mixed sentiment, review the underlying sources AI systems rely on.

Negative framing often originates from:

* Blog posts
* Reviews
* Forum or community discussions (e.g., Reddit)
* Outdated or misleading content

Understanding these sources allows you to take **targeted corrective action**.

{% hint style="info" %}
Sentiment improvement is typically incremental and driven by **addressing specific narratives**, not publishing content at scale.
{% endhint %}

### How Sentiment Analysis Connects to Other Limy Features

Sentiment Analysis works closely with:

* **Prompts:** to identify where sentiment is formed
* **Sources & Citations:** to understand what drives framing
* **Recommendations:** to address sentiment issues through targeted actions
* **Attribution:** to evaluate whether improved sentiment correlates with outcomes

Together, these features help manage **brand perception in AI search**, not just visibility.

{% hint style="info" %}
Use **Sentiment Analysis** to identify prompts and sources where AI systems frame your brand negatively. Review the underlying content (such as blogs or forum posts) and take targeted action - like updating content or adding clarifying, positive commentary - to influence how AI systems interpret your brand over time.
{% endhint %}

# Source Analysis

This article explains how sources, pages, and citations influence AI-generated answers and how to use these insights to guide content and PR strategy.

Source Analysis shows you **which sources influence AI-generated answers** about your brand, your competitors, and your industry. You can understand what content AI systems rely on and what to strengthen to improve visibility.

AI platforms synthesize from content they’ve ingested and sources they trust. Source Analysis helps you identify the exact websites, pages, and content types shaping AI answers, making it easier to prioritize content updates, PR placements, and competitive positioning.

### With Source Analysis, you can:

* See which sources AI systems rely on when answering prompts in your industry
* Break down internal vs. external sources influencing your visibility, where you can deep dive into each source and prompts.
* Analyze source types (e.g., blog, news, reviews, docs, community)
* Identify the specific URLs that matter most
* Understand where competitors are being reinforced by strong sources
* Spot gaps where your brand lacks authoritative coverage

### The page breaks sources down into:

* Internal vs. external sources
* Sources by type (for example: education, news & media, business & services)
* A ranked source list, showing each provider’s share of influence on AI-generated answers

You can click into any individual source to view every specific URL that was referenced or relied on by the AI systems when generating responses.

This makes it easy to see exactly which content is **shaping AI answers and where visibility is being reinforced.**

### Use Source Analysis for competitive strategy

Compare your sources to competitor sources to answer questions like:

* Which publications or platforms repeatedly mention competitors?
* What type of content is reinforcing their authority?

* Clearly identify which sources most influence AI answers about your category
* Understand whether your visibility is driven by your own content or external coverage
* Prioritize high-impact content updates and PR placements

# Recommendations

This article explains what are recommendations, and how to leverage them to improve your visibility across the LLMs.

Recommendations help you turn AI visibility insights into concrete, high-impact actions.

AI systems decide which brands to mention based on the content they ingest, the sources they trust, and the patterns they observe across the web. Simply knowing where you appear in AI-generated answers is not enough - improving visibility requires targeted changes across content, PR, technical setup, and external signals.

Recommendations in Limy are designed to bridge that gap. They translate AI visibility data into specific, actionable suggestions that help marketing teams improve how often and how accurately AI systems reference their brand.

### Recommendations allow you to:

* Improve existing pages that AI systems already read
* Strengthen external signals such as PR, social, and third-party coverage
* Address technical issues that could limit AI crawlability
* Focus efforts on prompts and topics that matter most to your business

Each recommendation is based on observed AI behavior, competitor performance, and the sources influencing AI-generated answers in your market.

Each recommendation includes:

* Insight into the underlying visibility gap
* Why the suggested site, topic, or action is relevant
* Concrete guidance on execution - such as how to approach outreach, what type of content to create, and what angle is most likely to resonate.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/1dQHn8PAGmtsIRZ3bIDa" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# Recommendation Statuses

This article explains how to use recommendation statuses to track progress, keep execution organized, and ensure future recommendations remain relevant.

Keeping recommendation statuses up to date is important, as it helps Limy understand what you’ve already worked on and tailor future recommendations accordingly.&#x20;

### Each recommendation includes a status that helps you manage execution:

* **Active**: recommendation ready to work on
* **In Progress:** currently being implemented
* **Done**: completed and ready for tracking.&#x20;
  * Once the recommendation is ready, you can add the URL under ‘**Tracking**’ to ensure that you're measuring the impact of the URL. You’ll be able to see the results under **Recommendations** > **Tracking**.
* **Dismissed:** not relevant or intentionally skipped

<figure><img src="/files/JJ2HxFpbXykiny68dKUk" alt="" width="387"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
Marking a recommendation as **In Progress** keeps it visible at the bottom of the page, organizes your feed, and signals to the team that it’s already being handled - this helps prevent overlapping work.
{% endhint %}

# Recommendation Plan

This article explains how to define focus areas and preferences so Limy can generate recommendations aligned with your strategic priorities.

The Plan section allows you to **control** how recommendations are generated and prioritized based on your team’s capacity, focus areas, and growth strategy.

AI visibility optimization can span many surfaces - on-site content, off-site PR, technical improvements, and multiple topics at once. The plan helps you define where Limy should **focus** and how much work **your team can realistically handle,** so recommendations remain actionable rather than overwhelming.

By setting a plan, you ensure that Limy delivers recommendations that align with your business priorities and operational bandwidth.

### What the Plan Controls

The Plan allows you to define three key dimensions of your recommendation strategy:

* Where to grow visibility (on-site, off-site, or both)
* What topics to focus on
* How many recommendations your team can handle per week

These inputs guide how Limy generates and prioritizes recommendations for your workspace.

### How to Configure Your Plan

* **On-site:** Content, blogs, and technical improvements on your website

This helps Limy tailor recommendations to the channels you want to prioritize.

#### Set your team's bandwidth

Define how many recommendations your team can realistically work on per week.

This setting helps Limy:

* Limit the number of active recommendations
* Prioritize the highest-impact actions
* Avoid overwhelming your team with too many suggestions at once

You can adjust this setting at any time as capacity changes.

### When your plan is configured correctly, you should see:

* A steady, manageable flow of recommendations
* Clear alignment between recommendations and business priorities
* Faster execution and higher completion rates
* Better visibility improvements over time due to consistent execution

This plan helps turn recommendations into a sustainable operating model, rather than a one-time backlog.

{% hint style="info" %}
If no plan is created, Limy will determine which content to push, including the topics and number of recommendations. It’s important to keep statuses up to date so Limy can continue suggesting relevant recommendations.

# AI Traffic Monitor

This article explains how to track and analyze user behavior after exposure to AI-generated answers, from initial visit to conversion.

AI Traffic Monitor shows **how real users arrive on your website after interacting with AI-generated answers** on platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity.

As AI systems increasingly replace traditional search journeys, users often discover brands through AI answers before ever visiting a website. However, most analytics tools either misclassify this traffic or fail to surface it altogether. AI Traffic Monitor in Limy makes this traffic visible by identifying sessions that originate from AI platforms and isolating them as a distinct acquisition channel.

With AI Traffic Monitor, marketing teams can move beyond visibility metrics and understand how AI-driven discovery translates into actual website visits and engagement.

<figure><img src="/files/PIDNM5Ek1pnNiyNJMhUe" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Once enabled, AI Traffic Monitor allows you to:

* Identify website sessions that originate from AI-generated answers
* See which AI platforms are driving traffic to your site
* Understand which pages AI users land on first
* Analyze engagement metrics such as pages viewed and session depth

This gives teams a clear view of how AI discovery performs as a source of qualified traffic, rather than treating it as unknown or “direct” traffic.

### How to access it:

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Go to your Limy account

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Under Monitoring, navigate to **AI Traffic Monitor**

{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

### How to set up the AI Traffic Monitor

#### Navigate to **Settings**

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Scroll down to JS snippet and copy the Limy tracking pixel code

<figure><img src="/files/VzwW3SIrvxjGIijjILgT" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

#### **Once you have the JS snippet code:**

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Open **Google Task Manager**

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Select the container used on your live website

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

# Attribution

This article explains how Attribution connects AI-driven discovery to conversions, pipeline, and revenue by tracking outcomes from users who arrive via AI-generated answers.

Attribution shows how AI-driven discovery **translates into real business outcomes** on your website.

AI platforms increasingly **influence** how users discover, evaluate, and choose brands. However, traditional analytics tools struggle to connect AI-generated answers to downstream actions such as demo requests, signups, or purchases. As a result, marketing teams often lack visibility into the true impact of AI search on pipeline and revenue.

Attribution in Limy closes this gap by linking AI-originated sessions to on-site conversions. It allows marketing teams to understand not only where they appear in AI-generated answers, but which AI prompts and conversations are driving measurable value.

<figure><img src="/files/XexMq45tCJYC59cH1Gpy" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### What Attribution Shows

# Bot Monitor

This article explains how AI agents crawl and ingest your website content and how that behavior influences AI-generated answers.

Before AI systems such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity mention a brand in an answer, they rely on automated bots to browse, fetch, and interpret web content. These bots decide which pages are **relevant, which information is credible, and how frequently content should be revisited.**

Bot Monitor gives you the visibility into this otherwise invisible process by showing which AI bots are **crawling your site, which pages they read, and how often they return**. This insight is critical for understanding how your content is ingested and refreshed inside AI systems.

<figure><img src="/files/BLdeXoECA9tQUmH4KCSb" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Once enabled, Bot Monitor allows you to:

* Identify which AI bots and crawlers are accessing your website
* See which pages are most frequently ingested by AI systems
* Monitor crawl frequency and patterns over time
* Understand how AI systems refresh their understanding of your content
* Identify gaps where important pages are not being crawled

This helps you to focus on the pages and content that actually influence AI-generated answers, rather than relying on assumptions.

# Glossary

The Limy AI Glossary article provides clear, concise definitions of key terms used across the agentic web ecosystem.

As AI search engines, LLM-driven interactions, and autonomous agents reshape how users discover information, understanding these terms helps you interpret AI visibility data and measure the impact of AI-driven traffic.

<figure><img src="/files/nZ8t7eDsjg30POx1G8lX" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Core concepts

* **Prompt**\
  The user’s query to an AI surface (e.g., “best running shoes for knee pain”). Tracking prompts helps you understand what questions users ask AI when researching products in your category.
* **Response**\
  The AI’s response to a prompt, which may contain links to your site. Responses determine how your brand is presented to users within AI-generated answers.
* **Prompt Hash**\
  A stable ID (hash) representing a canonicalized prompt text used for grouping/analytics.
* **Answer ID**\
  A unique identifier for a specific AI answer snapshot.
* **Rank/Position**\
  The placement of your link within the AI answer (e.g., first link shown). Higher placement increases the likelihood that users will click through to your site.

### Acquisition & tracking

* **AI Impression**\
  Recorded when a tracked prompt/answer containing (or likely leading to) your link is shown. Impressions help measure how often your brand appears in AI-generated answers.
* **AI Click**\
  A click from the AI answer to your site (ideally via a decorated/redirected link). AI clicks show when AI responses are actively driving users to your website.
* **Redirector / Link Decorator**\
  A shortlink service that wraps destination URLs to attach IDs/UTMs for deterministic attribution.
* **Destination URL (Dest URL)**\
  The specific page on your site that receives the AI-driven visit. Tracking destination URLs helps identify which pages benefit most from AI-driven traffic.
* **UTM Parameters**\
  Standard marketing tags (e.g., `utm_source=chatgpt`) persisted on arrival for analytics.
* **AI Params**\
  Non-UTM tags used by Limy (e.g., `answer_id`, `prompt_hash`, `link_id`, `ai_model`).
* **Referrer**\
  The page or service that led the user to your site (often the redirector domain).
* **Session**\
  A continuous period of user activity on your site.
* **Sessionization**\
  Logic that groups web events into sessions (server-side preferred).
* **Client ID (CID)**\
  First-party identifier stored in a cookie/local storage and joined to sessions.
* **Server Session ID**\
  A server-generated session key used to stitch events and reduce reliance on client cookies.
* **Event Collector (SDK/Edge)**\
  Limy’s server-side endpoint or edge function that receives web/app events.
* **Limy Pixel**\
  The lightweight snippet/SDK that initializes IDs and forwards events server-side.

### On-site events & commerce

* **Page View**\
  A view of any page; typically the first event after AI Click. Page views confirm that AI-driven users successfully reached your site.
* **Key Event**\
  Milestone interactions (e.g., `view_item`, `add_to_cart`, `begin_checkout`, `lead_submit`). These events help measure how engaged AI-driven visitors are once they arrive on your site.
* **Purchase**\
  Completed order with `order_id`, value, currency, items.
* **Order Value / Revenue**\
  Monetary value attributed to a purchase after discounts but before refunds.
* **Conversion (CVR)**\
  A desired outcome (often purchase or qualified lead) divided by a base (clicks or sessions). Conversion rate helps measure how effectively AI traffic turns into business outcomes.

### Identity & stitching

* **Identity Graph**\
  A table joining `client_id`, `server_session_id`, hashed email, and user/account IDs.
* **Deterministic Match**\
  High-certainty connection (e.g., redirector `link_id` + session, or logged-in user).
* **Semi-Deterministic Match**\
  Strong but not perfect signals (e.g., redirector referrer + near-instant session).
* **Probabilistic Match**\
  Statistical linkage using features like time gap, geo, device family, and URL similarity.
* **Cross-Device Stitching**\
  Merging identities across devices via hashed email, login, or server-side IDs.

### Attribution & models

* **Attribution**\
  The method of assigning credit (and revenue) to touchpoints that influenced a conversion. Attribution helps determine how much revenue or pipeline is influenced by AI-driven traffic.
* **Attribution Model (Selector)**\
  Switchable logic: Last-Touch, First-Touch, Position-Based (40/40/20), Time-Decay, or Data-Driven.
* **Last-Touch**\
  100% credit to the final touchpoint before conversion.
* **First-Touch**\
  100% credit to the initial AI touchpoint (first impression/click).
* **Position-Based (40/40/20)**\
  40% to first AI touch, 40% to last pre-purchase touch, 20% split across middle touches.
* **Time-Decay**\
  Credit weighted by recency (configurable half-life).
* **Data-Driven Attribution**\
  Algorithmic approach (e.g., Markov/Removal Effect or Shapley) estimating each touchpoint’s incremental impact.
* **Lookback Window**\
  Time span during which touches are eligible to receive credit (e.g., 7 days for clicks).
* **Attribution Confidence**\
  A 0–100 score reflecting certainty of the AI→session→order linkage.
* **Confidence Tiers**\
  High (≥0.80), Medium (0.60–0.79), Low (<0.60); used for reporting filters.
* **Attributed Revenue**\
  Revenue portion assigned to AI touchpoints under the active model and confidence threshold.

### Analytics objects

* **Journey / Path**\
  The ordered set of AI and on-site events leading to a conversion.
* **Journey ID**\

# Filters

This article explains how to use filters in Limy to refine AI visibility insights by prompt type, intent, provider, region, and time range.

Filters allow you to **control how the data is analyzed and interpreted across Limy**.

AI-generated answers vary significantly depending on intent, brand presence, and timeframe. Filters in Limy help marketing teams **isolate the signals that matter most** by narrowing analysis to specific prompt types, intents, and periods.

Used correctly, filters transform Limy from a reporting tool into a decision-making system, enabling teams to focus on opportunities that align with their business goals.

<figure><img src="/files/lHtt1ANBTWXGzE4gTkc8" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### The filters allow you to:

* Separate branded from non-branded AI prompts
* Focus on prompts with specific user intent
* Compare AI visibility across different time periods
* Reduce noise and highlight actionable insights
* Align analysis with specific marketing objectives

{% hint style="warning" %}
Filters are available and, once applied, will be reflected across the Dashboard, Prompts, Competitors, Sentiment, Source Analysis, Pages, and Citations.
{% endhint %}

### List of filters:

1. **Region:** Filters prompts and AI answers based on geographic relevance or market.&#x20;
2. **Branded vs non-branded:**
   1. **Branded**: Shows prompts where your brand is explicitly mentioned in the AI-generated question.&#x20;
   2. **Non-branded:** Shows prompts where your brand is not mentioned, but relevant competitors or category terms are.&#x20;
3. **Topic:** Filters prompts based on the themes they relate to, whether added by you or automatically created by Limy.
4. **Provider**: showing you the different LLMs the prompts are run on (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perxplity, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overview).&#x20;
5. **Prompt** **intent**:&#x20;
6. **Date range:** Filters data to a specific time period to analyze trends or measure change over time.

# Brand Kit

This article explains how to create and configure a Brand Kit in your Limy account.

The Brand Kit defines how Limy understands and represents your brand. It provides the context the platform needs to ensure that recommendations, content suggestions, and AI visibility strategies reflect your brand’s voice, positioning, and messaging priorities.

AI systems do not simply reference facts. They interpret tone, positioning, and messaging patterns from the content they ingest. **In the same way, Limy uses the Brand Kit to understand how your brand should sound, what it should emphasize, and what it should avoid.**

Without a completed Brand Kit, Limy can still generate recommendations and content suggestions — but they may be more generic and less aligned with your brand strategy.

Completing the Brand Kit ensures that recommendations and generated content are relevant, on-brand, and ready for use, rather than requiring heavy editing or adjustment.

<figure><img src="/files/S7stSdHXv7lWUD3TNHFP" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### The Brand Kit allows you to:

* Define your brand’s essence and positioning
* Specify tone of voice and messaging principles
* Set clear dos and don’ts for brand communication
* Add custom rules and constraints
* Ensure recommendations align with brand strategy

### How to Access the Brand Kit

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Log into your Limy account

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Navigate to Settings, in the bottom-left corner

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Select Brand Kit

<figure><img src="/files/swzsgHOVH952NklRy4gz" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

### Define the following regarding your brand:

* **Brand essence**:&#x20;
  * Describe your brand’s core positioning and value proposition. Include key differentiators and how you want AI systems to understand your brand. This information helps Limy contextualize your brand within AI-generated answers.
* **Elevator pitch**:&#x20;
  * Write a short, high-impact description of your brand (1–2 sentences). This should clearly explain what your company does and who it serves.
* **Tone of voice**:&#x20;
  * Define how your brand should sound (e.g. authoritative, friendly, technical, conversational). You can also clarify whether tone should remain consistent or vary depending on context. These settings guide how content and recommendations are phrased across the platform.
* **Messaging pillars:**&#x20;
  * Add your core messaging themes or pillars. These represent the key topics or narratives your brand should consistently emphasize.

    Messaging pillars help Limy reinforce consistent narratives across recommendations and generated content.
* **Add do’s & don’ts:**&#x20;
  * Specify language, claims, or positioning your brand should avoid. You can also define required messaging elements or mandatory phrasing. This ensures recommendations and generated content do not conflict with legal, compliance, or brand guidelines.
* **Taglines:**&#x20;
  * Add your primary and secondary brand slogans.
* **Social Media Guidelines:**&#x20;
  * Define tone, style, and formatting rules for how your brand communicates on social platforms.
* **Copywriting Examples**:&#x20;
  * Provide examples of headlines, descriptions, and calls-to-action that represent your brand voice. These examples help Limy understand how your messaging should sound.
* **Case Studies**:&#x20;
  * Share examples of how your brand appears across channels. These examples provide context on tone, structure, and messaging.
* **Pre-written Paragraphs:**&#x20;
  * Add approved brand paragraphs that can be reused or adapted in generated content.

{% hint style="info" %}
Set up your Brand Kit to **save time**. Once completed, Limy can deliver recommendations and generated content that are already aligned with your brand voice, tone, and messaging — allowing your team to focus on execution rather than editing.
{% endhint %}

### FAQs

<details>

</details>

<details>

The Dashboard provides a consolidated view of your brand’s visibility, market share, sentiment, and trends across AI-generated answers.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>How often is the Dashboard updated?</strong></summary>

The Dashboard updates as Limy analyzes new AI-generated answers, reflecting trends over time rather than real-time changes.

</details>

<details>

</details>

<details>

### Intelligence

#### Visibility

<details>

<summary><strong>What does Overall Brand Visibility measure?</strong></summary>

Overall Brand Visibility measures how often your brand appears across AI-generated answers for relevant prompts and topics.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>How should I use the Overall Brand Visibility metric?</strong></summary>

Use Overall Brand Visibility to track trends over time and identify whether your AI presence is improving or declining, rather than focusing on short-term fluctuations.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Why does my visibility share change over time?</strong></summary>

AI systems continuously refresh their answers based on new sources, updated content, and model changes, which can cause natural fluctuations in visibility.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>What should I do if I notice a sudden drop or spike?</strong></summary>

Use filters and drill into prompts, sentiment, or sources to understand what changed, then review recommendations to identify corrective or reinforcing actions.

</details>

#### Prompts

<details>

<summary><strong>What is a prompt in Limy?</strong></summary>

A prompt represents a question a user might ask an AI system when researching a topic, product, or brand in your category.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>How are prompts created?</strong></summary>

Prompts are generated based on your industry, topics, target personas, and competitive landscape.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>What’s the difference between branded and non-branded prompts?</strong></summary>

Branded prompts explicitly mention your brand, while non-branded prompts focus on category or problem-based queries where your brand may or may not appear.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Why do some prompts not mention my brand at all?</strong></summary>

AI systems reference brands based on perceived relevance, authority, and source coverage. Missing mentions highlight opportunities for improvement.<br>

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>How often are prompts run?</strong></summary>

Prompts are run every 24-96 hours to get the latest accurate result.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Can I add or modify prompts?</strong></summary>

Yes. Prompts can be added and modified.

</details>

#### Competitors

<details>

<summary><strong>Can I add or remove competitors later?</strong></summary>

Yes. Competitor lists can be modified as your competitive landscape evolves.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>How are competitors selected?</strong></summary>

Competitors are defined during setup and can be updated in Settings > Competitors at any time, based on your market and strategy.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Why do some competitors appear more frequently than others?</strong></summary>

AI systems prioritize brands with strong source coverage, authority signals, and relevance to specific prompts.

</details>

#### Sentiment Score

<details>

<summary><strong>Is sentiment based on user reviews or social media?</strong></summary>

No. Sentiment is derived from AI-generated language, based on the sources AI systems reference when answering prompts.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Can sentiment change quickly?</strong></summary>

Yes. Sentiment can shift when AI systems ingest new sources or re-interpret existing information.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Can sentiment change over time?</strong></summary>

Yes. Sentiment evolves as AI models ingest new sources, content, and coverage.No. Sentiment is derived from AI-generated language, based on the sources AI systems reference when answering prompts.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Why might sentiment drop suddenly?</strong></summary>

Sudden changes can be caused by new sources being ingested, negative coverage, or shifts in how AI systems interpret existing information.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>How can I improve negative sentiment?</strong></summary>

Improvement usually involves addressing the underlying sources through updated content, PR efforts, or clarifying commentary.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Should I optimize for sentiment or visibility first?</strong></summary>

Both matter, but addressing negative sentiment on high-visibility prompts should be prioritized.

</details>

#### Source Analysis

<details>

<summary><strong>Does Source Analysis show exactly what AI systems used?</strong></summary>

It shows the sources that appear to influence AI answers based on analysis of AI outputs and cited/reference patterns, which helps you understand what content is shaping responses.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>What’s the difference between Owned Sources and Earned Citations?</strong></summary>

Owned Sources are typically your owned content (your site pages) that influence AI answers; Earned Citations are external sources (publications, reviews, blogs, videos) that shape how AI systems describe your brand and category.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>How should I use Source Analysis day-to-day?</strong></summary>

Use it to prioritize content refreshes, decide where to invest in PR or partnerships, and validate which narratives and sources are influencing AI answers.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Does appearing in the same source guarantee visibility?</strong></summary>

No, but it increases your chances - content quality and relevance still matter.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Why are competitor sources showing up more than ours?</strong></summary>

Competitors may have stronger third-party coverage, more authoritative citations, or better-aligned content formats (e.g., reviews, comparisons) that AI systems rely on for your category.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Should I copy competitor content?</strong></summary>

No. Use insights to inform strategy, not replicate messaging.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Can I influence which sources AI uses?</strong></summary>

Yes - by improving content quality, authority, freshness, and external validation.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Why don’t I see all mentions of my brand?</strong></summary>

AI systems selectively reference sources they trust most. This view shows the most influential ones.

</details>

#### Recommendations

<details>

<summary><strong>What are recommendations in Limy?</strong></summary>

Recommendations are data-driven actions suggested by Limy to improve how AI systems ingest, reference, and position your brand in AI-generated answers.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>How are recommendations generated?</strong></summary>

Recommendations are based on analysis of AI-generated answers, source citations, competitor visibility, and crawl behavior. Limy identifies gaps and opportunities specific to your market.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>What are the different types of recommendations?</strong></summary>

Limy provides **Content** (your existing content), **Blog** (new content), **PR** (collaborations with external sources), **Social** (social media posts, forums) and **technical** recommendations, each designed to improve how AI systems ingest, reference, and position your brand by addressing gaps in coverage, authority, sentiment, or accessibility across AI-generated answers.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Are recommendations customized to my brand?</strong></summary>

Yes. Recommendations reflect your industry, competitors, and the prompts most relevant to your ICP.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Should I start with fewer recommendations?</strong></summary>

You can start with a lower bandwidth to help your team build momentum and ensure consistent execution. Once you understand how it works and who’s responsible, you can gradually increase the bandwidth.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>How does Limy decide which recommendations to show?</strong></summary>

Recommendations are generated based on prompt-level visibility gaps, competitor performance, source influence, sentiment signals, and AI ingestion behavior specific to your market.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>How should I prioritize recommendations?</strong></summary>

Prioritize recommendations tied to high-impact prompts, topics with strong commercial intent, or areas where competitors consistently outperform you.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Why is it important to update recommendation statuses?</strong></summary>

Updating statuses helps Limy understand what has already been implemented, keeps your workspace organized, and enables the system to surface new and more relevant recommendations.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>How long does it take to see results after implementation?</strong></summary>

Results typically appear gradually as AI systems ingest updated content and refresh their answers, which can take days or weeks depending on the change.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Can I change my plan later?</strong></summary>

Yes. You can update your plan at any time to reflect new priorities or changes in team capacity.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Does the plan affect existing recommendations?</strong></summary>

The plan primarily affects future recommendations. Existing recommendations can still be completed or dismissed.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Do I need to select all topics under my Recommendation Plan?</strong></summary>

It is recommended to focus on fewer, high-priority topics to lead to better results.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Can I update the BrandKit later?</strong></summary>

Yes. Updates apply immediately and influence future recommendations.

</details>

#### Monitor

<details>

<summary><strong>Does Limy collect personal data?</strong></summary>

No. Limy tracks session-level behavior without collecting personal identifiable information (PII).

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>How long does it take for data to appear?</strong></summary>

Data appears as users click through from AI-generated answers. Timing depends on your AI visibility and traffic volume.&#x20;

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Does this replace Google Analytics?</strong></summary>

No. AI Traffic Monitor complements existing analytics tools by isolating AI-driven sessions as a distinct channel.&#x20;

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Do I need engineering support to set this up?</strong></summary>

In most cases, no. Anyone with access to Google Tag Manager can complete the setup.

</details>

#### AI Traffic Monitor & Attribution

<details>

<summary><strong>Is the Limy Pixel required for Attribution?</strong></summary>

Yes. Attribution depends on AI-originated sessions captured by the Pixel.&#x20;

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>What types of conversions can I track?</strong></summary>

You can track any meaningful on-site action, including form submissions, signups, purchases and more.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Do I need to assign a value to conversions?</strong></summary>

Yes. Assigning a value is necessary if you want to measure AI-driven ROI or revenue contribution.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Why don’t I see conversions immediately?</strong></summary>

Conversions appear as AI-originated users complete the defined actions. If AI traffic volume is low, data may take time to populate.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Can I change or delete conversions later?</strong></summary>

Yes. Conversions can be edited or removed as your tracking needs evolve.

</details>

#### Bot Monitor

<details>

<summary><strong>Is the Bot Monitor required to use Limy?</strong></summary>

No, but it significantly improves prompt accuracy and insight depth.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Does Bot Monitor track users or personal data?</strong></summary>

No. Bot Monitor only tracks automated crawlers and agents. No user sessions or personal identifiable information (PII) are collected.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Does this integration affect site performance?</strong></summary>

No. The integration is read-only and does not impact site speed or availability.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Do I need engineering support to set this up?</strong></summary>

Yes. CDN access is typically managed by DevOps or IT teams.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>How long does it take to see data?</strong></summary>

Data appears as AI crawlers revisit your site. Timing depends on crawl frequency and AI platform behavior.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>What if I don’t see important pages being crawled?</strong></summary>

This may indicate crawlability or accessibility issues, which can be addressed through Recommendations or technical adjustments.

# Release Notes

Welcome to Limy's Release Notes, where you'll find all the latest and greatest features and new additions to our platform, organized by the months in which they were released.

## **Product Updates November 27, 2025**

**Limy Analytics: AI User Traffic**

The AI User Traffic page is now live, providing real time data on human sessions originating from ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity. The page tracks visits, sessions, landing pages, providers, topics, and prompt patterns associated with each AI entry point.\
All signals are processed instantly, allowing you to see how LLMs interpret your brand and which content surfaces users through agentic search. This page now serves as the primary layer for understanding real user behavior shaped by AI systems.

**AI Bot Traffic**

A dedicated page showing how AI crawlers read your website. Track which pages are frequently accessed by bots, identify blockers, and understand region level crawl activity. This helps you optimize AI indexability and improve your brand’s visibility across agentic systems.

**Limy Attribution:**

You can now assign events to any CTA on your site and connect your AI visibility directly to revenue. Our new attribution model shows the real business impact behind every AI mention, prompt, and answer.\
Each event supports a monetized value, allowing you to see how much revenue started from AI search. AI search becomes a measurable performance channel with clear visibility → influence → conversion → revenue.\
You can find this feature at the AI traffic monitor page.

**New Settings Experience:**

The Settings page has been fully rebuilt and now serves as the core configuration layer of the platform. You can add or remove competitors in real time, edit all prompts with immediate effect, and create new topics as your strategy evolves. All changes propagate instantly across visibility, recommendations, and insights, removing the need for manual updates or support intervention.
