# Source Analysis: Competitors

The **Competitors** view reveals which sources AI systems rely on when mentioning *other brands* in your market. This helps you understand **why competitors appear**, and what sources support their visibility.

### You’ll see:

* Top sources referenced for each competitor
* Source overlap between competitors
* Differences in source types (PR-heavy vs content-heavy, etc.)

### How to use it

This view helps you **reverse-engineer competitor visibility** by showing what content, coverage, and platforms are working for them.

### How to use it for marketing strategy

* **Identify gaps:** Find sources competitors use that you don’t appear in.
* **Replicate success patterns:** If competitors dominate via reviews, PR, or forums, prioritize those channels.
* **Benchmark authority:** Compare source quality and authority between brands.

### What to look for

* Are competitors winning through PR, content, or community platforms?
* Are there shared sources you can compete within?
* Are competitors benefiting from platforms you’ve ignored?

{% hint style="info" %}
**Best practices:** focus on quality, prioritize sources AI systems repeatedly trust across competitors and use this view to guide PR targets and content distribution.
{% endhint %}
